How to Segment Your Data By Event Type And Traffic Source

Introduction

Accessing Recent Signals

  • Click on the number under your event metric of interest (e.g., initiate checkout, add to cart, purchase etc).

  • Click on the number to see all signals for that signal event.

Viewing Signals

  • Toggle between list view and card view, to show your view of preference

  • Increase results per page on the bottom right of the screen to see more signals at once.

  • Scroll through the signals to review them.

Drilling Down by Traffic Source

  • Click on a specific traffic source (e.g., Facebook, email, Instagram etc).

  • Select the signals event you want to isolate specific to that traffic source (e.g., view content, add to cart etc) and click on the number under that sygnal event.

  • Return to the original view showing all traffic sources by clicking “view all sources.”

Example: Instagram

  • Click on a different traffic source (e.g., Instagram).

  • Choose the specifc signals events you want to see specific to Instagram (e.g., view content) and click on the number under that event.

Exploring Event Details

  • Click on a specific event card to see its details.

  • Review the history, session details, browser ID, source, status, date, time, referral URL, destination URL, and UTMs if included.

Conclusion

  • By following these steps, you can effectively drill down in your reporting to analyze recent signals for different metrics and traffic sources.
